Rebirth

​

Through this painting, I wanted to express the soul of warrior who embodies attitude of non-backsliding and does not fear 'death' with fierce determination and courage.

 

I used an image from my favorite comic artist, Kim Jin's work,

'Kingdom of the Winds' (김진의 바람의 나라). I loved this comic work very much and wanted to recreate the image of warrior based on this work.

'Rebirth', this painting of mine tells me 'bring forth your determination and courage' and 'fear not, for you can do it.'

 

 

대학시절 꽤나 힘들지만열정적으로그렸던 작품이다.

모티브는 김진 작가의 만화 [바람의 나라]의 무휼이라는 캐릭터였다.

중학교 시절부터 보았던 만화인데, 그 캐릭터의 모습을 이용해서

모든 두려움을 뚫고 불퇴전으로 전진하는 무사의 모습을 그려보았다.

살아가면서 느끼는 두려움과 막막함은 사실 굉장히 많이 산재해있다.

그것을 담대하게 헤쳐 나가는 용기있는 사람들도 있겠지만,

나는 여전히 큰 결정을 내릴때 꽤나 망설이고 두려워 한다.

변화를 싫어하는 성격이었다. 또한 두려움은 생존에 대한 두려움이

대부분이었다. 그것을 밀고 나가려면 마음속의 믿음과 뒷심이라는

육체적 힘이 필요하다.

​

용기를 내야 할 때가 있다. 앞이잘보이지않더라도!
